Kid friendly s'ghetti

Chop up some hot dogs



Break spaghetti noodles in half



Then poke the noodles through the hot dog






Place them in boiling water until the noodles are cooked



Taduh!!!!!!
And then add some spaghetti sauce on top.

Applying to grad school

Grad school makes me;

..want to blow my brains out.. .............me lose sleep...……
......me gain weight. Yuck!.....
......stressss...
....…want to cry......…


Reminds me:

I'm NOT in control.
I need to give these things up to GOD.
God's plan is better than my plan.
I need to pray more. .. A lOT more.

&& lastly applying to grad school reminds me...
I have the most patient husband in the world. <3

Mexico Day 4

Day 3
Sleepy sleepy sleepy. && pouring rain!!!( mud everywhere!!!)
Breakfast= pancakes(even Mickey shapped ones! ) eggs, bacon, sausage,& hashbrowns.


Had a talk with Roberto, and he took my bible to Joshua 1:6,7,9,18. Then back to the house we went. We tapped and mudded a whole room
then sheet rocked another.


Then it was lunch time: left over s'getti. I stayed in the kitchen after that to sent up our thanksgiving dinner. The menu: two full turkeys, 170 serving of mashed potatoes, 8 boxes of stuffing, fried onion green beAn casserole, candied yams, and salad, followed by worship. Great end to a great mission.

Crock Pot roast

4 pounds of stew meat
2 cans cream of mushroom
Some garlic salt
1 packet of Italian seasoning dressing
6 chopped up potatoes
30 baby carrots
(onion optional)

On high for about 4-5 hours.
Mmmmm delicious!!

Pie crust

2 cups of flour
2/3 cups of crisco
A little salt
5-6 tablespoons of water

Super easy!! :)

Day 2

Wake up 6:00am with kitchen duty. On the menu: sausage, bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. Wonderful bible study led by Ken (Deu. 6:5-9, Ps 25:14, Mark 4:1) Then we spent the day reorganizing and cleaning the kitchen after some mice had a field day in there. While getting the napkin area clean we found; Gus Gus, Moses, and Aaron. :) super cute right?!? At lunch we were told the children would be coming early......a day early! So we rushed to get everything clean and set for them. We severed them lunch and had a great time playing games with them, painting nails, a few Rounds of baseball, cards, and coloring books. We even got a few renditions of Feliz Navidad. Then back to work. Nailing Sheetrock and puttying the nails. Then it was kitchen duty again to make dinner. On the menu: lasagna, spaghetti, salad, bread, cake and pie. We had a HUGE piñata for the kids. We stiffed it so full of candy we had to tie the rope around the whole thing and it took 3 men to carry it. The kids has a blast! They loved it!! They even had a piñata song too. Cold shower time. Well hot shower then cold shower then hot and cold and cold again. Very bipolar water here. Had a great talk with Charlie and Terri, what an amazing god freeing couple.. Very much an inspiration and role model. I can't wait to talk more with them. :) ok night night.

Day 1- Welcome to Tecate

So we just arrived in Tecate, Mexico. It was a long trip, we left at 7:30am and arrive at 5:45, the delay was mostly from the traffic we encountered in San Diego because the chargers had their first Thursday game. Then we were home, or at least what we would call home for the next few days. The area is set back off the road on a little hill. Up the hill are some crosses and benches to do bible study. Once we arrived we were greeted by Ken, who seemes to run casabuilders and this sweet old man who was on crutches i cant remeber his name, but he is the sweetest!! Then had a tour of the visitors center.
There is one big kitchen/mess hall, 4 bedrooms for the girls and four for the boys, bathrooms and wash rooms were in the middle of the two. Mom
And I roomed with Anna in room #4. Best thing is the matresses are comfy!! :) We unpacked our stuff and went to get dinner. Dinner was Dumas tacos...maybe the best part of the trip lol but seriously delicious!! I ate 6 tacos amd probably could have had a few more but I am a big girl. After dinner we played the largest game of UNO ever which turned into a battle of the sexes catch phrase. Hate to admit but the fellas one both rounds. I must say we have quite the team. God has blessed us!

Location:Tecate, Mexico

Stuck

This has been stuck with me.

In China I pulled out a princess tablecloth and the children we so excited for that, we didn't even have to bring out the crafts. They were over joyed by the simple plastic sheet.

In Sacramento we were handing out free shoes and We fitted a lady with a pair, she took them off and said those weren't good enough she wanted a pair of Nike's instead.

I want to be like the children in China finding joy in the smaller simpler things.

Take Action

It was a very cold morning.
We woke up at 4am to make the drive to
Sacramento to pack groceries outside in the 30 degree weather. But we braved it!


We prayed and then joined about 75 others with Samaratine's Feet to pass out shoes and wash people's feet.


Mom and I worked as a team. She would pray with our friends and and I would find them shoes and socks.











It was amazing.
Caring for the poor is evidence of our salvation. If there is no sign of caring for the poor in our lives, then there is a reason to at least question whether Christ is in our hearts.
