money verses family

so i called in to work on monday morning because of a family emergency ( i might post about that later ). when i called the store to let them know what was going on i was expecting the typical insincere "whats wrong" "how are you" or "i hope everything is ok," i know she really doesn't care about my circumstances but its just they typical response, you'd normally hear to make it seem like you care about the speaker. but instead i was responded by a "you know you don't get holiday pay right?" [kinda figured if i'm not coming to work i'm not getting paid]I had no idea what to say. I was shocked and replied, 'uhh yea, I wasn't even concerned about that.." Kinda shows where people's priorities are. I'm sorry, my family is worth way more than the whole $20 bucks i might make after taxes.
1 Timothy 6:7-10
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
